Module 1
The 3 Golden Rules of Teaching
There are 3 Golden Rules of teaching martial arts. Once you have learned and embodied these, your work will get much easier, your students will make more progress, and you'll be reminded of why you became a teacher in the first place.
Module 2
The 4 Pillars of My Teaching Philosophy
How much to push students, how much to explain, how to support them and motivate them... These are some of the questions that will be answered in this second module.
Module 3
Building Dojo Community - How and Why
I'll be sharing ways that you can build community and why it's important. Once you've adopted these practices, your dojo membership retention will become solid, and you'll see an increase in new students, as well.
Module 4
Teaching Kids
Any instructor who has taught even one kids class realizes that teaching kids is very different from teaching adults. I'll share some things that have helped me grow my youth program to 50+ kids at any given time.
Module 5
Teacher Burnout
Teacher burnout is certainly real. In this module, we take a look at contributing factors and how you can avoid them, as well as steps you can take to alleviate burnout when it has been unavoidable.
Module 6
How Young Instructors Can Navigate the Aging Aikido Culture
From what to look for in an instructor, applying for deshi programs, doing extended dojo stays for deepened study, in this module, we recognize the challenges for young Aikido-ka and present some ways to successfully navigate this landscape and create your own Aikido future.
Module 7
How to Increase Dojo Membership
Many instructors are also dojo owners. In addition to striving to become a better teacher, they must also make sure the dojo is sustainable financially. In this module, I'll share ways that I've built my dojo's membership over the years and give you tools to take your first steps to having a financially stable dojo.
Module 8
How to Know When You're Ready
There are some people who will feel that they are not ready to teach yet, no matter how much experience and expertise they have. And there are others who feel ready, even though they're just starting their own Aikido training.
This module will give you clear checkpoints to know if you're ready or not and if not, what you can do to prepare yourself.

Lia Suzuki Sensei is a senior student of Yoshinobu Takeda Shihan and National Director and Founder of Aikido Kenkyukai International USA.
For nearly 10 years, she lived and trained intensively under Takeda Shihan in Japan. Suzuki Sensei's experience in Japan also gave her the opportunity to train with the late Yamaguchi Sensei and other notable masters.
She currently is based in Los Angeles, and directly oversees several dojos in her network in the USA and the UK. Suzuki Sensei travels extensively throughout the world, teaching at dojos outside of her affiliation, as well.
Her mission is to foster inclusion in the Aikido world, rather than division, and to increase Aikido’s popularity among youth and those in their 20's and 30's.
