The 1st Pillar of my teaching philosophy:
Sweaty, but safe.
Pro athletes refer to it as "in the zone." Runners talk of a "runner's high." As long as it's safe to do so, keep them moving. Let them sweat. This is a type of "misogi" that will send them home feeling invigorated and at peace.
The 2nd Pillar of my teaching philosophy:
Let them experience the training.
Don't rob them of the opportunity to learn by searching and discovering the answer for themselves. If you 'spain everything before they've had a chance to search on their own, they won't develop the confidence, independence, and resilience they'll need when they reach the higher ranks.

This course is specifically designed for instructors who find themselves navigating this new COVID-Era landscape and anticipating our future as Aikido instructors.
I'll share my teaching philosophy, based on my 40+ years of teaching experience. I'll also share fundamental principles for teaching that apply whether your classes are in-person or virtual, whether your students are young and "on fire" or older and cautious.
Having established dojos in 6 different cities and helped some of my senior students establish their own clubs and dojos, I'll also dedicate part of the course to how to build your dojo's membership.
In every topic, I'll also share what didn't work for me so you don't have to make the same mistakes.
